Richard Hale

DIRECTOR & CO-FOUNDER

Dr Richard Hale is an international expert in accredited work based action learning and the author of several books and published papers on leadership, influencing skills and organisation development. 

Richard’s early career in industry was with General Electric Company and with BSkyB where he established the Training and Development function. He has worked with international corporations ranging across government, FMCG, financial services, retail, pharmaceutical, engineering, construction sectors. In recent years he has worked closely with public service government in the UK, Africa, Middle East, Australia & Jamaica. 

He believes in learning through deep listening and questioning and developed the Action Learning Question (ALQ) approach which means PerformHQ are able to offer truly work based learning to postgraduate level.  He developed the first client based Action Learning Question Masters programme with Clerical Medical and Lloyds TSB. 

Richard is a Fellow of the CIPD and worked on the original development of the distance learning CIPD programme. He has researched the development of the outsourcing profession and supported the public service in several developing countries in their donor funded leadership capability building and public procurement development,

Richard’s professional passion is for action learning, learning relationships (coaching and mentoring – the subject of his doctorate under the supervision of Prof Alan Mumford), social systems thinking and constellations coaching, action research.
